Lee Opticians Managing Director Michael Gilsenan, is to deliver a presentation to the MLA's in Stormont on Monday 10th December. The presentation will be on the importance of vision with children who under-perform in school.

Eye examinations are free for children and students aged 18 and under. Only 20% of children get an eye examination on an annual basis which compares to 90% of children who get their teeth checked on an annual basis. 75-90% of everything a child learns comes from eyes and vision.

A much higher proportion of our young patients are long sighted rather than short sighted. This means that these children are more likely to have problems with close work and reading which can sometimes impact on school work. Some symptoms of long sightedness are; headaches, eye rubbing, uncomfortable and tired eyes or blurred vision when tired. Should you notice any of these symptoms, contact us to book an eye test for your child.
